2008

Ben's back from Argentina, I'm back from Europe and now it is time to start on revamping the Street Team. There is a lot entailed in this entire process. First, I had to weed out all the nonactive members..800ish cut down to 450. Then, I had to process Team Leader applications. So far we only have 20. My goal is to drive that number up to 50 eventually but 20 is better than 0. They kind of serve as my interns. Help me keep track of the 450 members and help me be in 50 states at once.

We're moving from a service we pay, fancorps, to our own web site. I'll miss the fact that fancorps does everythinnng for me and now I'll have to do everything manually, but having the Team Leaders will help. Working on designing a brand new web site, luckily I'm working with a talented graphic designer who will help me make the most efficient street team site as possible. My goal is to make it completely different than all the others I've been a part of and the ones that exist. It is about making committed fans even more committed into doing things only they can do anyways. We want it to be as interactive as possible. I've met some of my best friends through the Ben Kweller message boards, the whole Kweller family is important to me and I want to make sure other fans can feel the same way. Almost as though they are included in something great, which they are. :)

Here is the first rounds of designs..we are changing the banner.
personally i love it..we are revamping it to black and purple..the team is called 'The Pack' and the teamers are 'wolves.' Anyone who listens/is familiar with BK's work knows that wolves hold a deep meaning to him. His son's middle name is Zev, which is Hebrew for wolf and his 2nd album, 'On My Way' featured wolves on the cover.

Next weekend I'm off to Maine for the first time. It is Ben's 2nd time playing in that state. Exciting. I'm selling merch and it is the first time I get to rummage the inventory and decide what to sell and how much of it..I do it on tour also but never with leftovers so it'll be interesting.

That's all for now. More updates next week.
